Madras Mannerism x Aloka x Ajit

This project was in collaboration with Aloka Design Studio and Ajit, an artist and mural curator, we transformed this entrance wall into a canvas. The mural was designed to capture the spirit of Chennai in an abstract, eye-catching way, without the use of words.

The design was inspired by arches, a recurring feature across the space. The artwork (10 ft x 14 ft) was broken into smaller modules using CAD, then cut on MDF boards with a CNC machine. On-site, the pieces were assembled like a puzzle, glued and screwed onto the wall. By layering components across five levels, the artwork created a sense of depth and visual movement. Finally, PU painting and lighting added depth, perfectly proportioned for the space.
