This project draws on ukiyo – the Japanese “floating world” , to frame tasks as a sequence of fleeting, fully lived moments rather than an endless to‑do list. Each task becomes its own small world: entered with complete attention, experienced, and then released, similar to the structure of the bespoke furniture.

By focusing on one action at a time, the mind is invited to rise above competing priorities and settle gently into the present. With the table being monochrome, it quietly strips away distraction, reinforcing this focus and directing attention back into the work itself. The clients expressed a need for an additional workstation, distinct from the current one, to serve as a daily huddle spot for executives to discuss their agendas.

Rather than placing cables on the floor, we explored the idea of suspending them from the ceiling, allowing power access without invasive groundwork. The false ceiling then became the channel for running cables neatly and invisibly.
