Roles performed : Design Conceptualization , Furniture plans, Visualization , Project Management
This project, in collaboration with Aloka Design Studio, involved creating a spacious, opulent, and dynamic co-working environment, complete with essential facilities such as a conference room, cafeteria, and lounge area.
The project is located in Chennai’s iconic Mount Road, an area rich in cultural and architectural heritage. This unique context shaped the design approach, allowing us to merge colonial-era influences with modern workplace requirements, creating a space that feels rooted in history but speaks the language of the present.

Design Language
The interior design strikes a balance between heritage and modernity.
Colonial influences: Wainscoted walls, arched windows, and Victorian-inspired tiles highlight the building’s historical character.
Contemporary layers: Modern furniture, clean-lined partitions, and functional lighting solutions bring in a sense of minimal sophistication.
Material palette: A mix of warm-toned woods, textured walls, and muted pastels ensures comfort and timelessness.
The resulting palette makes the space feel familiar yet exciting, encouraging users to adapt it as their own.
Over an 8-month project timeline, I coordinated with multiple vendors and stakeholders, streamlining processes to achieve a 20% reduction in both time and cost. While project planning and management posed significant challenges, I thoroughly enjoyed navigating them and found the experience deeply rewarding.
The final design created a harmonious fusion of traditional charm and modern functionality. Employees and visitors could enjoy a sense of belonging to a heritage-rich environment, while benefiting from the amenities and flexibility of a state-of-the-art co-working hub.
Spatial Experience
The environment was designed as a journey through varied spaces:
Conference Room – A formal yet flexible setup with acoustic treatments to allow undisturbed discussions.
Cafeteria – A lively hub with casual seating arrangements, encouraging informal conversations and networking over meals.
Lounge Area – A softer, more relaxed zone where people could work independently, take breaks, or brainstorm in small groups.
Each zone was designed to transition seamlessly, maintaining a visual connection while providing varied atmospheres suited to different modes of working.
Our very friendly client, wanted to boost interactions and networking. We envisioned a space that would encourage connections among individuals from various offices sharing common resources.
