TVH approached Studio Neon Attic to renovate their lobby after a decade. The goal was a quick, functional transformation that aligned with sustainable practices. The design had to refresh the space without disrupting the existing structure, complementing the materials already on site while making the experience feel renewed.

Within just 60 days, the concept was finalised, vendors were locked in, and execution began in tandem. The renovation achieved a fine balance between efficiency and detail—transforming the space without losing its essence.

CONCEPT & DIRECTION

PROJECT BRIEF

FINAL OUTCOME

Local and sustainable materials defined the palette. Terrazzo tile flooring added texture and character, while walls finished to mimic travertine lent a timeless, natural appeal. Fluted wall panels created rhythm, and a plain grey ceiling grounded the vast height. A recycled wood installation celebrated craftsmanship and sustainability, complemented by tan velvet sofas that brought in a quiet touch of luxury.

Participating in the early stages of project management taught me how to align design intent with practical execution. Handling a high-budget, fast-track project sharpened my understanding of timelines, coordination, and material strategy in live environments.

IMPACT & REFLECTIONS

Navigating the contrast in heights between the grand lobby and the compact lift area posed a unique challenge. The design evolved to guide the visitor’s gaze naturally through these varying volumes, ensuring visual continuity without overpowering the smaller zones.

Drawing inspiration from the existing colour palette and the impressive triple-height volume, the design centered around spatial balance and calm. White became the grounding tone, creating visual ease, while curated greenery introduced freshness and a sense of biophilic warmth to the interior.

The project was modelled entirely in SketchUp, with real-time adjustments made on site. The design decisions were deeply tied to the existing spatial cues, evolving through continuous observation and testing at the location.
